Getting divorced has been one of the hardest and most trying times in my life. While I'm not going to write about the ins and outs of my particular case, I will say this: it's complicated. Luckily, I have a lot of very good and competent people in my corner who have supported me along the way. One of those is Lauren Michaeli. I have seen friends and co-workers get divorced. None of them had any recommendations when it came time for me to "lawyer up". I, on the other hand, have recommended both Ms. Michaeli and Mr. Penichet over and over again and my case isn't even settled yet. I can honestly say that no matter what happens I know I had the best representation I could possibly receive. The level of care and effort put in by Ms. Michaeli will never be forgotten, but really it was the compassion and human approach to her work that impressed me the most. As a police officer I have seen my fair share of lawyers, but few that have the mettle Ms. Michaeli has shown over the past year.
