Cheryl has practiced matrimonial and family law for over two decades. In doing so, she has successfully guided clients through all aspects of family law including divorce, post-divorce, family court, custody, support, and adoptions. She is adept at negotiating settlement agreements that meet, and often exceed, needs and expectations. She recognizes that family issues which lead clients to court are often life changing. As such, her practice of law is zealous but always cognizant of the practical and emotional implications of settlement negotiations and litigation. Cheryl’s style is strong and pragmatic, yet compassionate. She represents family law clients in both the Supreme and Family Courts of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, and Rockland Counties as well as all five boroughs of New York City.
In addition to family law matters, a substantial portion of Cheryl’s practice is made up of estate law. After consultation and thoughtful consideration of individual needs, she offers estate planning advice and drafts documents to ensure a plan is established. She prepares and executes Wills, Trusts, and real estate transfers, plus lifetime directives such as Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Proxies, and Living Wills. Upon death, whether a person had a Will or not, Cheryl helps clients negotiate the estate process in Surrogate’s Courts throughout New York. Her Surrogate’s Court practice includes both small and large estates as well as more complex matters where property is held out of state or newly discovered information requires corrective proceedings.
Outside of the office, Cheryl and her amazing husband of almost twenty years share their home with four rescue cats (including one who periodically appears in virtual court!). Cheryl is a lifelong equestrian who also enjoys boating on the Hudson and live rock music events.
